The matter involved approx $3.5 million in an Auckland apartment project, followed by litigation, insolvency, and regulatory involvement. What I believe is a substantial documentary record now exists that includes material not considered in earlier proceedings. The petitioner does not seek personal redress, compensation, or reconsideration of any judgment, but an independent examination of whether the evidence identifies wider banking or regulatory failures that may have affected the public.
