Allow Selwyn District Council to recover fast-track infrastructure costs

That the House of Representatives amend legislation so Selwyn District Council can recover full growth-related infrastructure costs from all fast-track subdivisions, including those already approved or being processed, regardless of application or decision dates.

The Government's changes exclude fast-track projects already approved, or where a substantive application has already been lodged, when the new rules commence. We believe Selwyn ratepayers should not fund those developments' infrastructure shortfalls. We seek reassessment powers covering all such projects, a fresh assessment period for earlier approvals, transparent costs and credit for infrastructure already funded. We believe developers should meet their full attributable costs.
