Assess urban aerial ropeway transit for Waitematā Harbour Connections

That the House of Representatives urge the Government to commission and publish an independent feasibility assessment of urban aerial ropeway transit as an option for Waitematā Harbour Connections, including its potential integration with Auckland's existing bus, ferry and rapid transit networks.

Before major investment decisions are made, I believe Aucklanders should see a transparent assessment of whether urban aerial ropeway technology could improve cross-harbour resilience, capacity, and travel choice. International systems show that aerial transit can complement existing public transport, but I think Auckland's wind; demand; cost; and safety, environmental, and network requirements must be tested locally. This petition seeks an assessment, not approval of a specific route or design.
