Stop taxing employees' annual bonuses

That the House of Representatives make employees’ annual bonuses tax-free.

Under current taxation rules, bonus payments are treated as extra income and can be taxed at higher marginal rates, which I feel reduces the intended reward and disadvantages employees who have contributed meaningfully to the economy. To me, bonuses and retirement rewards recognise sustained hard work, so should be regarded as gifts, not additional taxable income or lump-sum payments. This petition is intended to seek fair and proper acknowledgment of employee contributions.
