Establish a publicly accessible register of sex offender information

That the House of Representatives establish a publicly accessible register of people convicted of sexual offences in New Zealand, including their name, photograph, conviction details, and current residential address.

Sexual offending can have lifelong effects on survivors, their families, their communities. By requesting increased public access to information about people convicted of sexual offences, this petition seeks to improve safety for survivors, their families and the wider community. I believe this would protect communities, help families make informed decision, and protect children and vulnerable people.
